1. GOD IS A COMMUNITY. One God in Three Divine Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, one in essence, though distinct, yet equal in majesty. Unity and love characterize the nature of the Triune God The Church is an icon of the Trinity
2. MAN IS CREATED ACCORDING TO THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF GOD. He has dignity and God-given rights. He has three-fold capacity to enhance his dignity: To think, to love, to care for creation and shape his destiny. He is called to form and build a community from which his growth and salvation depend.
3. JESUS CHRIST BUILDS COMMUNITY OF DISCIPLES AND HIS CHURCH THROUGH PETER AND HIS APOSTLES. He called Apostles and Disciples to be his co-workers and sent them to preach the message of the coming kingdom of God, to feed hungry, to heal the sick, to cast out demons and to build faith communities.
4. THE MEMBERS OF THE EARLY CHURCH LIVED AS A COMMUNITY OF CHRIST'S DISCIPLES
a. There was that sense of community, unity, belongingness or fellowship among the early Christians. They lived together and knew one another (Acts 2:42-44, 4:32)
b. Christians cared for one another and they showed concretely this caring through sharing of their possessions especially to those who were in need (Acts 2:45.47,434)
c. First Christians held meetings to communicate with one another, to discuss common problems to work out concrete solutions to these problems. They were concerned about the growth of their little community (Acts 5.12, 6:2-6)
d. They lived as a Christian community because what brought them together was their common faith in Jesus. This was the basis for their being "united in heart and soul" (Acts 4.17)
e. As a Christian community, they "remained faithful to the teachings of the apostles, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers" (Acts 2:42).
f. They worshipped in the temple" and celebrated the Eucharist in their houses They "praised God" and witnessed to the resurrection of Christ (Acts 4:33)
